I have "Fibre+ 500" service, and the test-results were just as good as Ethernet: 554 Mbps download and 106 Mbps upload, with the computer about 6 feet away from the XB7, but with an interior wall (drywall and wood framing, no metal) between the computer & the XB7. I connected the USB cable to a "USB 3" ("Super Speed") socket on the computer, and ran the Shaw Speed Test. Cool! No more downloading of device-drivers, and no more misplacing/deleting a download. The higher the number, the longer it takes to transmit data. Measured in milliseconds, your ping refers to the latency of your connection - how fast your device connects to the network. So, the first-time I connected it, my computer detected the partition as my "E:" drive-letter, and I ran the software to install the device-driver. Shaw speed test will calculate your ping, download speeds, and upload speeds. The device-driver software for the adapter is a partition integrated into the USB adapter. I can repeat this over and over with the same. The thing is, if i do an Ookla speed test, my Xbox App will jump to 20-30MB/Second for a short period while Ookla is doing its upload. Then it will drop back down to ther 12-13MB/S. Ookla speed test shows 600+ mb download speeds. slow speeds on the phone and ipad have continued to be slow, even after a wipe of the devices. its always connected to the -5g network, and we had set the width to 80. So, the adapter can sit a few feet above the computer. When downloading a game through xbox app, it caps at 12-13 MB/S. The tests over a few days have stayed fairly consistent between the sites, with shaws test running much slower than speedtests. It comes with a USB extension cable that has a "mount" socket at one of the cable. I just purchased an ASUS USB WiFi adapter that uses "WiFi 6". Test with your device(s) NOT directly one floor about the XB7. The gateway was in the basement a floor below.
